Temi Robot - Android

While studying at St. Clair College, I joined Enactus' tech team and became a head developer for the Android-based personal assistant robot, Temi. My role involved collaborating on a program that utilized Temi as an usher during an interview process. Upon entering the building, interviewees informed Temi of the interviewer they were scheduled to meet. Temi would then bring them to the appropriate room, verbally wish them luck, and return to the front entrance. This experience ignited my passion for working beyond website and mobile development.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I assisted a local business owner with migrant workers who were in quarantine upon arrival. The workers needed essential shopping, which was previously a time-consuming process. It involved filling out a paper, having someone pick it up, and deliver to the driver. This process did not help to stop the spread of the virus. To address this issue, I created an ordering form online that employees could fill out. The form would then email a direct copy to the shopper, resulting in minimal contact between everyone.

How I got here

I'm a passionate and innovative developer with a creative flair for design. My journey in this exciting world of tech began with an Advanced Diploma in Mobile Application Development from St. Clair College, where I laid the foundation for my love of all things development.

During my college days, I dove headfirst into Android development as part of the Tech Team for Enactus. Creating programs for a personal assistant robot named Temi sparked my desire to explore beyond traditional apps and software. I also had the opportunity to work with NFC and QR technology, which was pretty thrilling!

Over the years, I've worn various hats in the Hospitality Industry and Retail Customer Service, from managing a restaurant to leading teams in a greenhouse factory setting. I've always enjoyed providing exceptional experiences for clients and associates and have been that go-to person for training new employees on everything from software to machinery.

Outside the tech world, you'll often find me exploring the great outdoors, seeking out new restaurants, or attending concerts and sports games. I'm a firm believer in continuous learning and love embracing new challenges. The dynamic, fast-paced environments that keep me on my toes and make each day exciting are my playground.
